And Love, staring with teary eyes

looked Light in the face and asked

But Light had no reply.

So Goodness turned to Mercy and

together sat Love down.

Peace was asleep, and Joy nowhere to

be found.

Then Light began to cry, and

Darkness smiled a knowing, winning

He knew if he could make them rest a while,

in doubt and grief

and tears, he’d have his way the

whole world round, and flood it

full of Fear…

But Love and Darkness have a past,

a long way back they go.

For souls, they’ve wrestled, fought and won –

Then Love catching Darkness grinning grim, stood and

made it known unwincing.

Love’s tiredness, was but symptom of Love’s love, not a sign of defeat by Loves foes –

So Love cried out, and Light shone bright, and Peace woke up, and Fear resigned….

and Goodness and Mercy stood up and strong – pointing to the one upon the Cross who is himself all Life.

and as Grace spoke, the man bled, the Darkness fled.

And Love reigned once, and forever.

And Light had the final word.
